As part of the Village Connect programs, a new initiative was commenced today. Sarva Vidya started 'Supportive Education Classes' for the twelfth standard students of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School of Achirupakkam Village.The spectrum covered include 'Commerce, Economics & Accountancy'. The number of students attending these sessions as of now is a hundred.Volunteer teachers who have completed 'Teacher Training Programs' are engaged for this purpose. Once the program becomes popular, the spectrum of subjects and schools can be increased. As an add on 'Experimental Science' for encouraging students to interest themselves in practical science will be introduced.

Graduation Ceremony

It was the Graduation Ceremony time for the 2016-18 batch students. Something every student looks forward to. The ceremony always is accompanied by the "Oath Taking" where they pledge service reciting the Florence Nightingale pledge. It is really gala time with the first year (2018-20) and the second year (2017-19) batch students also joining in the function and cheering their seniors. Below is the group photo of the newly graduated students in their white uniforms.

Mehandi, Rangoli, and Reading competitions were conducted on these two days for the first and the second year Patient Care Diploma students as also spot games. Isn't the Rangoli by G Divya Bharathi enchanting? Sarva Vidya is particular in bringing out the talents of the students, which has been a rewarding annual feature and is very much looked forward to by the students.

Rajasthani Association of Tamil Nadu as usual sponsored the effort. Panchayat Union Middle School in the village provided the necessary space. Total Beneficiaries numbered 182, which comprised of equal number of men and women.

Sarva Vidya comes up with yet another Village Wellness Center in the Aranvoyal Village in Thiruvellore district, about 45 Km from the city of Chennai. The speciality of this school is that one of the students of Sarva Vidya, Ms Mahalakshmi of 2010-2012 batch diploma in Patient Care, has volunteered to run this school in her own village. On the 6th May, Sarva Vidya Sirappu Samudayam formed an action committee in situ and enthusiastically welcomed the idea of working along with Sarva Vidya for the welfare of their village community. As an immediate followup the committee met today and came up with action plans for the immediate future. Nine members met and had a very lively discussion on the areas and timeframe in which they will advance the causes of Sarva Vidya

Together with the Rajasthani Association of Chennai, this month's Village Health Management Camp was conducted today, the 12 May 2018, in the Village Ramapuram, in Achirupakkam block, Kanchipuram district.TheGovernment Middle School in Ramapuram was selected as the venue.Karpaga Vinayaka General Hospital provided the team of Doctors for medical consultation and treatment. Sri Sagadevan provided the local logistical assistance.This camp was attended by 148 people from the village. The composition was,Male 56, Female 64

Fourth Meet of Sarva Vidya Sirappu Samudayam Sarva Vidya's Alumni is rightly titled 'Sarva Vidya Special Society' and in Tamil it translates as 'Sarva Vidya Sirappu Samudayam'. Of the total of nearly 450 students educated in Sarva Vidya, 30% of the students attended todays meeting.The theme was to dedicate as a team, to the welfare of the village community from which these students come to Sarva Vidya for Paramedical education. Summer Camp at Peria Kalakkai Village Welness Center

Summer Camp was conducted for the children attending the After School activities in the Village Wellness Centre i Periya Kalakkadi village near Madhuranthagam town. The children tried their hands in cleaning the area of passage of in the Panchayat area as part of Swatch Bharat program.The summer camp is for three days will end on the 5th May with games and sweets and snacks distribution.

Sarva Vidya makes continuous efforts to give additional useful inputs to the students of 'Patient Care Diploma' other than the curriculum inputs. Here the second year students are being given an introduction to Dialysis so that some of them can opt for an additional intensive practical training in one of the Kidney Dialysis centers in Chennai after their exams.

Reading a book in any language is a pleasure. Fluent reading increases understanding and absorption of the contents. There is no two opinion that this habit should be inculcated when young.Sarva Vidya catches them young through the "Joy of Reading" project. Volunteers spend mutually happy time with the children, reading to them, making them read and understand. See the video to enjoy the response of students

Model Exams for 'Patient Care Diploma' students

Sarva Vidya prepares the students to face their final examinations through several in-house model examinations. In 2018, from March 2nd to March 12th various model exams were conducted including practicals.For training students 'hands-on', Sarva Vidya has a laboratory set-up equipped with various 'models', in which such training is imparted, even before the students face real life situations in hospitals during their intensive training program lasting over several months.

In association with the 'Rajasthani Association of Tamil Nadu', Sarva Vidya organised a Village Health Management Camp in the village Seethapuram about 80 km from Chennai. The Rajasthani Association is celebrating their Golden Jubilee year.145 people benefitted by the camp. The camp was organised with the help of 'Sri Harish Hospital' from the Achirupakkam town and locally coordinated by 'Makkal Sakthi Iyakkam' an NGO associate of Sarva Vidya.
